It offers an overview of the pedestrian planning process and discusses the various steps of public involvement, data collection, development of goals and strategies, and implementation resources. The plan provides a comprehensive analysis of pedestrian-motor vehicle crashes in the State. It discusses the design details of roadway crossings, intersection treatments, and traffic calming strategies as well as presents other pedestrian considerations such as signage and signalization, school/work zone practices, street lighting. A chapter is devoted to each element and includes recommendations, maintenance, and further references.
