Online Bicycle Safety Resources for Teaching Ages 15-18

Given their maturity and, for some, bicycling experience, discussing bicycle safety with high school students may be most relatable when integrated into driver education, as part of a broader discussion of transportation modes, or as part of civic action or community planning class. University of Florida

Driver education curriculum developed by Florida Traffic and Bicycle Safety Education Program to enhance Driver Education Curriculum materials in the area of bicyclist and pedestrian laws and safer sharing of the road. Includes activities that can be easily used in the classroom setting, as supplementary homework assignments, and/or as quizzes for driver education students of any age.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance

Bicycle safety curriculum for grades 6-12. This curriculum aligns with the National Standards for K-12 Physical Education and includes lessons and assessments for the skills and knowledge students need to enjoy a lifetime of safe bicycling. Supplemental materials include a parent guide to reinforce the curriculum.
