Field Test of an Intelligent Transportation System for Pedestrians

In the test, a PDA device was provided to volunteer monitors at an underground shopping area in Umeda in Osaka City. The volunteers traveled by following the route guidance from the device (e.g. map and characters displayed and voice guidance) between the origin and destination selected by them. The PDA devices helped the physically disabled such as wheelchair users find the optimal barrier-free route.
