Describes testing the ability of connected vehicle technology to prevent crashes, including with road users such as pedestrians and bicyclists. One of these tests measured the number of crashes and collisions averted by using cameras to detect pedestrians in crosswalks and send messages to nearby vehicles that alerted their drivers to a person in the crosswalk ahead.
