Developing Crash Modification Factors for Separated Bicycle Lanes

Investigates how conversions of a traditional bicycle lane to a separated bicycle lane (SBL) influence the safety performance of the roadway. Findings suggest that using flexible posts in converting a traditional bicycle lane to a SBL can reduce crashes by 50 percent. A technical brief summarizes the study and findings.
