Road diet, sometimes called a roadway reconfiguration, is a type of roadway project that can improve safety for all users by reducing crash severity, reducing vehicle speeds, shortening pedestrian crossing distances, and creating space for bikeways, among other benefits. The July 7 webinar panelists from a State DOT and local agencies will share recent research about the operational effects of road diets, new guidelines for implementation, and case studies of recently completed projects.
